Hi, I’m Kathy — the founder of Dear Algorithm 💌
I’m originally from Hong Kong and now based in Phuket but the beauty of digital marketing is, I can help brands grow anywhere in the world.
My journey with marketing started long before it was called “social media marketing.” About 15 years ago, I launched my own online dancewear shop. At that time, SMM wasn’t really a thing yet, but I trusted my instincts. I built a public Facebook page, grew it to 5,000+ followers quickly, and even collaborated with principal ballet dancers to create UGC — years before influencer marketing became mainstream.
After running my shop for many years, I eventually closed it during the pandemic and shifted into content writing for a media company in the wellness, relationship and spiritual space.
Not long after, I entered the F&B industry, where my proudest success came:
I led the marketing for a fine dining restaurant in Phuket and, through strategic storytelling, branding, and digital marketing, grew its Instagram from 0 to 25k followers in less than 2 years. More importantly, I helped position it as the World’s Best Underwater Restaurant, earning multiple international awards and recognitions. Proof that the right marketing can turn a vision into a globally celebrated brand.
Later, I worked with another art-focused restaurant, where my strategies boosted its presence dramatically — from only a handful of reviews to 200+ Google reviews in just two months.
